We did two slightly different trips as the trains were cancelled to Victoria for the first group. So a slight reroute to London Bridge emerging from underneath the great Shard building with a short walk on to Borough Market in Southwark. After eating lots of yummy food and experiencing the great energy of a busy market place, we then made our way to the Golden Hinde moored on the river Thames and slowly walked along its south bank through the many walkways and tunnels filled with the aroma's of food from all 4 corners of the world. Shops filled with everything imaginable, street entertainment sending a cascade of sounds across each section along its banks, passing by theatres, galleries, architecture spanning hundreds of years, ships, boats of all shapes and sizes, this is a place that draws your attention to the point of overload.
We crossed the river at the embankment bridge and made our way up to Trafagular Square where the students then had free time to explore the many sites off this centre point in London. Covent Garden, Leicester Sq, China Town, Soho, Piccadilly Circus, National galleries, Carnaby St, Oxford St, Regent St, the list is endless of the many sites to behold in this great city.
