School trips to Eastbourne exclusive to Agencies & Schools

Eastbourne is situated half an hour from the city of Brighton and one hour 30 minutes from London by train. It is often referred to as the ‘Sun Trap of the South’ due to the fact that it is reputedly the sunniest place in England

Brent Dyer, PRINCIPAL

We are a small school in the seaside town of Eastbourne in the south of England, surrounded by the green hills of the South Downs National Park and breath-taking Beachy Head and Seven Sisters cliffs overlooking the English Channel

Our school has been in Eastbourne for 20 years and is predominantly for Swiss students who wish to repeat their tenth school years.  However in recent years we have started to slowly increase the number of students we accept from other countries who are looking for the same excellent teaching standards that our school is renowned for.

The school is accredited by British Council and is also a Cambridge centre for exams.

The Didac Weekly Course Package

We are offering schools one, two or three-week visits to Eastbourne and England and to enjoy the benefit of attending a first class English language school.

Lessons

The English language course provides an entrance test for the evaluation of language skills and is delivered by teachers who are all qualified to degree status and full TEFL certification or DELTA certification.

The lessons take part every morning between 8.45 and 12.30. The lesson time is in total 900 minutes which would normally be divided into 15 lessons of 60 minutes each.

We issue a ‘certificate of attendance’ on completion of the course

Afternoon Activities

The afternoon activities can be tailored to each class visit but favourite ones have included such things as:

  • Hiking across the Downland to see the beauty spots of Burling Gap and Beachy Head

  • A trip to Brighton city to see the palace or to go shopping in the famous Brighton Lanes and a walk on the seafront.

  • A trip into the country to visit a typical English village and have a traditional English afternoon tea!

  • A trip to the historic town of Hastings and Battle where the English were defeated by the Normans in 1066

  • A sports afternoon with tuition in cricket or touch rugby

  • Cycling through the Downland on mountain bikes

Trip to London

During the course of your stay we would organise one day trip to London with a guide. We would tailor this visit to suit your needs as London is so vast and has so much to offer.

Airport Transfer

We will organise the transfers from London Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted, to Eastbourne and back again. The coach company that we work with offer good quality coaches and a very professional service.

Host Families

All the host families that we use to host students are checked by our host family coordinator to ensure they are well matched with the information we receive from you.  Many of them have been host families for many years and the feedback from our students for the last 3 years has always been over 95% for satisfaction with their host family.

All our host families are certificated and checked by us to ensure student safety and all within a maximum 20-minute walk from school. The families offer full board with breakfast, a packed lunch for the day and an evening meal at night.

Accompanying Teachers

We would expect that there is a ratio of at least 1 visiting teacher per 12 students and these teachers would either be accommodated in a local hotel or with a host family that host adults.

They would be full board and would not be expected to contribute anything towards the costs of the visit.

Their responsibility would be to work with the school in the event of any medical problems, discipline problems or translation problems.

What is NOT included?

  • We do not organise the flights to and from England or the transfers to the airport outside of England

  • We do not organise any travel insurance.

  • We are not responsible for the costs incurred by any flight cancellation
